Dr. Sunny earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from MGH (Massachusetts General Hospital) Institute of Health Professions in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Sunny has completed clinical affiliations and education within the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital network, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. She ended up moving to the DC area, and her interest in pediatrics led her to practice in the outpatient pediatric and early intervention settings. Dr. Sunny is a certified functional vision rehab specialist, and currently holds her Intro Level C certification in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI). She is trained in Level II TASES (Task Specific Electrical Stimulation), total motion release, and primitive reflex integration. Amongst her certifications, she brings experience in whole body vibration, neurodevelopmental technique, orthotic recommendation, Theratog compression garment fitting, and mobility/manual skills. She feels strongly about neurodiversity affirming practices, and connecting with each child, no matter their communication styles.
Dr. Sunny founded SunnyDays Pediatric Therapy as a therapy clinic specially made for medically complex infants and toddlers. Through her work in early intervention in Northern Virginia, Dr. Sunny recognized the need for more specialized care for this population, as general therapy at once or twice a month is almost certainly not enough to see significant progress. Furthermore, when time is of the essence for these kiddos, it is even more important to make meaningful progress before the age of 3, when the brain is most receptive to neuroplastic changes. SunnyDays PT was born out of this need to change the system, and do better for our medically complex kiddos.
